Dryer Belt JA 341241Part No. JA 341241
Belt connects the motor to the drum causing the drum to turn whenever power is applied to the motor.
Part location on dryer:
Belt is installed around the outside of the drum and the motor pulley. The tension pulley (idler) rides on the back side of the belt maintaining proper tension on the belt while the motor starts and runs.
Part failure symptoms:
Drum no longer turns when the belt fails (breaks). Belt should be replaced when it breaks or when the rubber becomes cracked or worn.
Remove dryer top and look for belt around drum. A broken belt will be easily removed from the dryer with a gentle pull on the belt. A broken belt may drop to the bottom of the dryer and no longer be visible from the top. Inspect your tension pulley and drum bearings for wear when changing the belt. Bring your “belt” in for free confirmation that it is good/bad or call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.
