Safety Note:

Heating - Gas furnace is running but burner never lights

Igniter – Located near burner to light flame. If igniter fails to glow, shut off power to indoor unit, remove bring in for free testing or call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Gas Valve – Needs to be replaced if gas valve is receiving 24 volts and does not open. Call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Safety – Rollout, limit switches, and pressure switch can cause this symptom. Call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Electronic Control Board – If all safeties test good and gas valve is not receiving 24 volts the electronic control board is probably bad. Call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Heating - Gas furnace is running but burner goes out after lighting

Flame sensor – This part senses when a flame is present and can often be repaired at no cost. Call the U-FIX-IT store for free instruction in this repair.

Heating - Gas furnace is not running

Blower Motor – Shut off power to indoor unit, remove both motor and capacitor to bring in for free testing or call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Transformer – This device provides 24 volt power to control both the indoor and outdoor unit. The transformer is usually located inside the furnace. Shut off power to indoor unit, remove transformer and bring in for free testing or call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Door Switch – Door switch detects if panel covering blower motor has been removed from furnace. Call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Heating - Electric furnace is running but blowing cold air

Sequencer – These devices apply power to the heat strips and the blower motor in the appropriate “sequence.” Call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Heater coil – This device converts electricity to heat inside the furnace. Call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Safety – Door switch, and limit switches can cause this symptom. Call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.

It is probably not the wall thermostat. Thermostat failure is much less common than other components. Call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.
